How do I get a referral. ...?

Normally through a social worker if you have one, if not, contact your local social services office or ask your support or key worker.

How much does it cost.  ...?

The cost is dependant upon the level of support required, and is charged per hour/day, Contact us for further details.

Is Transport provided... ?

In most cases, yes, there is a charge for this, added to the per day cost. Contact us for further details. Where possible, we encourage users to use public transport and will provide support in using the bus service.

Is protective clothing provided. ...?

Overalls are provided. Dust masks, protective gloves and goggles are available also. Due to the nature of some the processes, it is generally advised that ‘best clothes’ are not worn.

No shorts to be worn in the workshop.

Do I need protective footwear. ...?

It is not mandatory but in your own interest, it is advisable to wear some form of protective shoes.

No open shoes to be worn in the workshop.

Are meals provided. ...?

No, but snacks (crisps, chocolate, soft drinks etc.) are available to buy from the canteen. (Subject to dietary needs).

Do users pay for their tea/coffee etc. ...?


Yes, the present cost is 50p per day.

Can users work on their own projects. ...?

Normally, yes, depending on the project and the level of support required.

Do users get to go out. ...?
 

               Users have a bi-monthly meeting where they can discuss anything about the workshop.

           Leisure trips/days out are discussed then. On average, there is at least one trip out offered every  week.

           Service users are required to assist in the collection/delivery of stock, and to pickup timber, go to the wholesalers etc.

Do Users get paid ...?

          No, funds generated from the sale of items go to a recreational fund.

          This is used to subsidize trips out and the cost of extra staffing (sometimes out of hours).

          Users do Get all there daily expenses back. (bus travel tea/coffee expenses etc...)
